A Few Things to Know

Your reservation or standby spot is forfeited if you're not in place at scheduled departure time. No exceptions.
From Rockland (to the island) — First come, first served. Park in the blue standby lane at the terminal as early as you'd like. The earlier you're in line, the better your chances of getting on. From North Haven (leaving the island) — Different system. Call the North Haven ferry terminal at 11 AM the day before you want to leave to get a line number. Best to call or stop by the ferry office and have them walk you through it.
Grab your tickets before lining up, or your reservation will be forfeited.
Walk-on passengers board through the passenger entrance before or after vehicles — crew will direct you. Lane colors apply to vehicles only.

Slow down

The roads are quiet enough to hear the wind. Bike the loops, paddle the harbor, wander into the galleries — or just sit by the water and let the island set the pace. North Haven is a place to slow down and reconnect.

Island time is real

Cell service can be spotty and business hours can vary through the season — it's always best to call ahead or check their website. Stop by the market for anything you might need, but embrace the pace.

Eat well

Start at the market for coffee, pastries, and provisions. And join us for Monday Night Dinner — a three-course, prix fixe dinner on select summer Mondays by chef Ben Jackson, a James Beard Award finalist. Reservations required.
